Tiffany L. Davis of Alliance, age 33, is charged with a Class 3 felony of possession of a firearm, a Class 3A felony drug violation, a Class 4 felony of possession of a controlled substance, a Class 1 misdemeanor of carrying a concealed weapon, a Class 3 misdemeanor of no operator’s license, and an infraction of possession of drug paraphernalia. These charges happened January 19th. According to court documents, an Alliance Police officer pulled over a vehicle driven by Davis because of an expired license. The K-9 Service Dog found an odor of illicit drugs. The Police found a glass pipe with white residue used for methamphetamine, and a .22 caliber Ruger semi-automatic firearm.
Davis is scheduled to appear in Box Butte County Court January 26th.

Adam C. Rel of Alliance, age 21, is charged with strangulation, a Class IIIA felony, possession of a controlled substance, a Class IV felony, and Class I misdemeanors of third-degree domestic assault and child abuse. On January 18th Rel squeezed a female’s throat that had a four month old child in her arms. He also pulled her hair. Rel is scheduled to appear in Box Butte County Court on January 26th.

This week in Box Butte District Court, Frederick Ramirez Jr., age 23 of Scottsbluff was sentenced to 45 days in county jail. Reports say Ramirez was charged with Class 1 Misdemeanors of attempted possession of a controlled substance and carrying a concealed weapon. The substance charge was amended from a Class 2 felony possession, and a Class 3 felony of possession of a firearm with a Class 3A felony drug violation and Class 4 felony of money and controlled substance violation were dismissed.
According to charges, Ramirez took substantial steps toward possession of methamphetamine, and was in possession of a .22 caliber Ruger firearm in January.

The Alliance Police Department reports that a vehicular accident Sunday afternoon caused brief power outages along with over $8,000 in damage to local utilities.
Police reports say 55-year-old Ashby resident Thomas Egan allegedly may have had a seizure while driving northbound on Cody Avenue. Reports say his truck veered off the road and struck a street sign, a fire hydrant, a utility pole, and a phone junction box. The utility pole was split and the hydrant was knocked into the street.
Egan, who told police he had a history of seizures, was discovered inside the vehicle with no memory of the accident. He was transported to Box Butte General Hospital, where he was treated and released. In addition to the vehicle being totaled, police say the utility pole suffered $5,000 of damage with additional damage to the phone box and street sign.

On Tuesday April 5th, 2016, the Chadron Police Department received an alleged report of a theft of property from a residence in Chadron. The subsequent week long investigation lead to the arrest of 18 year old Cody Ray of Chadron. Cody Ray was arrested on two counts of burglary, a class IIa felony and one a count of an attempted burglary, a class III felony. Cody Ray was transported to the Dawes County Jail. Cody Ray’s bond was set at 10% of $10,000.00. The Chadron Police Department was assisted by the Dawes County Attorney’s office and Nebraska State Patrol.

According to Alliance Police Lieutenant Ken Hart, investigators from the WING Drug Task Force and uniformed officers from the Alliance Police Department and the Nebraska State Patrol assisted District 12 Probation Officers with twenty probation searches in Box Butte County on April 13, 2016.  In addition, search warrants were executed in the 700 Block of Laramie Avenue and the 600 Block of East 9th Street, both of which resulted in the seizure of suspected methamphetamine.

Jeremy J. Hemmer, age 28, Anthony D. Buethe, age 27, and Lacey L. Cordell, age 34, all from Alliance were arrested for Possession of an Exceptionally Hazardous Drug (Methamphetamine) with Intent to Distribute.  All three are being held in the Box Butte County Jail in lieu of a $20,000 bond.
